Red Fingernails

I want to paint my fingernails red
I want to get on a bus and wait
Until it takes me
somewhere beautiful.
I want to swim across the sky
And look down at the
world below.
And when I'm too old
to remember
How it was to imagine
everything,
I'll sit among the
birds on the sidewalk
Reading childhood
poetry.
And they'll just
call me a crazy old lady
For wishing I could fly
But I'll still paint my fingernails red.
