Dodecahedron

I am beguiled
by the dodecahedron
That a shape
could aspire to be poetic
Three golden
rectangles
Bound by
pentagons
It
crystallises garnets
And even Plato
imagined it
a symbol of
the universe
I am
captivated
I am
enthralled.
I look deeper
It is a
precursor to the football
It had
football antecedents
It has 5
platonic planes
5 platonic planes
And I realise
That as in
life
I have given
my heart
To a shape
That loves
football
And just
wants to be friends
